Danette Weich DVM

Danette Weich DVM is the owner and veterinarian at the High Sierra Veterinary Clinic. Dr. Weich is a native Californian and calls Leona Valley, CA her home town. Dr. Weich grew up in a family that loved animals and she always wanted to be a veterinarian. As a youth Dr. Weich raised and showed horses, sheep, pigs, and poultry in 4-H. She also participated in the raising, training and showing of her family's Arabian horses.

Dr. Weich earned a BS in Animal Science from UC Davis in 1983 and a DVM from UC Davis in 1988. Prior to starting the High Sierra Veterinary Clinic in 1992, she worked as a mixed animal practitioner for Ridgecrest Animal Hospital and Crestwood Animal Hospital.

Dr. Weich and her husband, Brad, have 2 young adult children. All family members are experienced at assisting with veterinary calls and are an integral part of our veterinary practice.

When not practicing veterinary medicine Dr. Weich enjoys photography; training and riding her horses; and raising and training her golden retrievers (Woodecoy Golden Retrievers) for show and performance events.
